Dealing with wasps and wasp nests must always be carried out by a professional with the correct equipment.

A queen wasp comes out of hibernation in early spring and starts to build a nest using chewed wood and saliva. Initially the nest is about the size of a golf ball, in which she lays some eggs. The eggs hatch into larvae which in turn pupate until the adult wasp emerges. The adult wasps are female and take over the building of the nest and other duties while the queen lays more eggs. As the numbers grow so does the nest. Eventually the queen will lay eggs which hatch into other queens and males, these leave the nest and mate with other queen and males wasps from other nests. The queens will then find a place to hibernate, and so the cycle starts again.

In the mean time, during the summer, the wasps pose a problem to households and businesses alike due to their aggressive stinging.
